SONS OF LIBERTY RIDERS, AMERICAN LEGION RIDERS POSTS 23 & 121, COMBAT VETERANS MOTORCYCLE ASSOCIATION, JOSHUA'S WARRIORS, VETERAN WARRIOR OUTREACH and the CHEROKEE COUNTY SHERIFFS OFFICE once again are sponsoring the now 8th Annual Benghazi-Twin Towers Memorial Ride and Veteran Appreciation Day. This is a ride-in and drive-in event for all to enjoy as we remember those who lost their lives in these horrific events from September 11, 2001 and 2012 and to honor our fine veterans who served our country well.
The escorted motorcycle ride will begin at the Towns County Veterans Park @ Towns County High School with registration beginning at 8:30AM and will leave at 10AM. The cyclists should arrive at Band of Brothers Memorial Park, Murphy, NC around 11AM. For those wishing to drive directly to the event, plan to be at the park before 11AM in time to enjoy the program and displays but, most importantly, to greet and cheer the riders as they enter the park.
The patriotic programs begins at 12PM with special live music, recognition of the purpose of this event, special guest speakers and much more. This is a family event for all ages and is sure to be "a feel good moment". Bar-b-cue plates with drinks served by Joshua's Warriors for donations and we will have our information tent set up to welcome guests.
