INTRODUCTION TO SAFE HANDGUN HANDLING: A USCCA CERTIFICATE COURSE
by George Gaines, 4 Sessions, Tuesdays, January 19 – February 9, 3:00 pm – 4:30 pm
This course is for individuals who presently own and keep a handgun in their home. It is not necessary that you have a permit to carry concealed. Students are asked to have their handguns with them during instruction, however, NO AMMUNITION SHOULD BE KEPT IN THE SAME ROOM AS THE STUDENT!!! This course relies heavily on live demonstrations and students will have the opportunity to demonstrate their ability to perform same. The course includes 4 days (6 hours) of Zoom online instruction. Due to COVID-19, there can be no firing range practice as part of this course. A USCCA Graduation Certificate will be awarded to those who complete the course.
Students who already have taken “Home Defense” may find the nomenclature being used easier to understand, however, the emphasis in this course is on instructor hands-on demonstration and student practice. Content outline: Self-Defense Firearm Basics (1); Defensive Shooting Fundamentals (2); Gear and Gadgets (3) and Basic and Advanced Skills (4).
