GERMS VS MAN: BATTLING EPIDEMICS THROUGH TIME
Jill Long and Sheila Rodgers, 4 Sessions, Thursday, January 17 – February 7, 10:10 am – 12:10 pm
The class will review several epidemics and pandemics through the ages and their affect on mankind: the organism, symptoms and course of the illness, treatment available and current status. Specifically, we will examine Leprosy, the Black Plague, Influenza, Polio, Tuberculosis, HIV/AIDS, Smallpox and Cholera. Come join us for a walk through medical history!
Jill was drawn to the beauty of these mountains 14 years ago. Happily retired from a nursing career of 40 years, she enjoys gardening, sipping wine and listening to the birds, crickets, and tree frogs.
Sheila has just retired from a 32 year nursing career, the past 17 at Murphy Medical Center. She is finding all kinds of ways to enjoy her free time, including taking 5(!) ICL classes this past fall.
