ENTERTAIN AND ENLIGHTEN YOUR READERS WITH YOUR LIFE STORIES, 4 Sessions, Tuesday, April 30 – May 21, 2:00 pm – 4:30 pm
NOTE: Classes will be at Glenda’s Writers Studio in Hayesville, NC
Each of us has a unique life story. While our children and grandchildren show no interest in our past now, there will come a time when they will be thankful we wrote down and preserved our history. Many times we hear someone, after losing a father or mother, say, "I wish I had asked more questions. I wish I knew more about my parents' lives." We will discuss how to decide what to write, how to write it, and how to organize your stories. After you register for the class we will send you directions to the studio.
Glenda Council Beall published a family history, Profiles and Pedigrees, The Descendants of Thomas Charles Council (1858-1911). This is the story of her parents, ten uncles and aunts and her grandfather who were born in the late 1800s. She teaches memoir writing at her studio, Writers Circle around the Table, in Hayesville, NC. She began teaching writing at the John C. Campbell Folk School, The EAGLE program at Sautee Nacoochee Methodist Church, and at Tri-County Community College.
Since 1996, her writing has been widely published in literary journals, magazines and online publications. Most recently, she co-wrote Paws, Claws, Hooves, Feathers and Fins, a collection of stories and poems about animals and the people who love them. She is the Program Coordinator for the NCWN-West, a program of the North Carolina Writers Network.
