CIA PART II: THE CENTRAL AGENCY FROM TRUMAN TO TRUMP by Bob Short
The course will include the relationship between the Agency and our various presidents during the historical events in foreign policy since it was created by Truman in 1947 until our present day issues with Russia, China and other countries that threaten our national security and standing in the world order.
Bob Short is an Alumnus of Young Harris college, Georgia Southern University, Woodrow Wilson College of Law. Currently retired on Lake Nottely after a career as Special Assistant to Georgia Governors Marvin Griffin, Ernest Vandiver, Carl Sanders and Lester Maddox; Regional Director of the Office of Emergency Preparedness and Federal-State Relations during the Johnson administration; Special Assistant on the Staff of US Senator Zell Miller and his successor Senator Johnny Isakson; founder and CEO of Investmart, a national marketing firm. Author of a prize winning biography of Georgia Governor and creator of a series “Reflections on Georgia Politics” which includes videos of more than 200 interviews with prominent Georgia business, political and civic leaders that is housed in the Zell Miller Library in Young Harris and in the Richard B. Russell Library on the campus of the University of Georgia in Athens; recently awarded the Georgia Historical Council’s Award for Excellence in Documenting Georgia’s History.
