Things To Do:

Vogel State Park

Visit one of Georgia's most beloved State Parks for hiking, camping, paddle boats, putt-putt, fishing, cottage rentals, bike rentals, a playground, and more! See Tryhalta Falls, easily accessible via one of our hiking trails, and experience the natural beauty that abounds in north Georgia.

Brasstown Bald

Brasstown Bald offers guests a unique view from the highest peak in Georgia. Opening in early spring, the Brasstown Bald Observatory allows guests to see four states and a breathtaking view of the mountains, even spying downtown Atlanta on a clear day.

Enjoy one of the local golf courses, like Butternut Creek Golf Course, conveniently located in the middle of Blairsville with stunning views of the mountains from each tee.

Horseback Riding

Spring provides equestrians and horse enthusiasts with perfect weather for a beautiful ride. Local stables can set you up with a gentle steed to take you on an extraordinary ride to spy flowers, blossoming trees, and nature awaking to a new season.

Spring is a great season to go hiking, as nature comes back to life. Take the easy routes through our picturesque Meeks Park or choose a hardcore trail that traverses streams, scales mountains and descends into deep gorges. The most famous trail in the area is the Appalachian trail. Accessible from several locations within Union County, the AT winds 80 miles through the Chattahoochee National Forest.

Looking for an outdoor activity that the whole family can enjoy? Geocaching is a great way to explore North Georgia, including the areas you might have overlooked. There are trails all over Georgia, including Blairsville’s own Vogel State Park. For an outdoor activity with lots of family fun, geocaching can’t be beat.
